Boil salted water and cook pasta al dente. Don’t forget to save at least 1 cup pasta water! I save a little extra and use it to reheat leftovers.
In a large pan over medium-high heat, cook your sausage & break up into bite sized pieces.
Cut broccoli into smaller pieces (unless it’s precut) & steam until tender. I prefer leaving it “al dente” as well because I like larger pieces. But you can make it softer and it will break up into smaller, soft pieces.
In your large pan, combine your cooked pasta & cheese. Stirring over low-medium heat until melted. Add about 1/2 cup to 1 cup of pasta water while stirring. Stir in olive oil & lemon juice.
Season with salt, pepper & red pepper flakes. Then stir in your cooked sausage & broccoli. Enjoy!
