How to Make Loaded Tater Tot Bites for Game Day
Looking for a quick & easy appetizer recipe? These loaded tater tot bites are the best last minute, quick & easy appetizer. Perfect for game day, your next party or a fun Friday night snack!
Loaded Tater Tot Bites
I’m all about loaded baked potatoes. But to be honest, I’m way too lazy to make baked potatoes most of the time. They take forever!
Not to mention, I’m more of a snacker. I like small bites that I can snack on while watching reruns of Gossip Girl.
Since the Super Bowl is tomorrow, I decided to whip up a batch of these as a trial run for the big game day party spread. What I love about this recipe is that you can scale it for a crowd without having to do a ton of work.
Tater Tots are a really popular appetizer across the board. But why not “elevate” them. throwing them on toothpicks and topping them with the traditional loaded baked potato toppings make them even tastier.
You can also use an air fryer (or in my case, my Ninja Foodi) to make the tater tots even crispier. I actually used the Ninja Foodi for this entire recipe instead of the oven. I’ll share the basic recipe using an oven, but just know you can throw them into you Ninja Foodi, air frying the tots and broiling the cheese at the end.
Side note: if you’re using an air fryer, I recommend spraying them with a little cooking spray so they don’t stick. It will take about 20 minutes from start to finish.
Bacon and cheese are always a winning combo. But these tater tots appetizers are a crowd favorite and the ultimate party food!
