Mississippi Chicken Recipe – The BEST Chicken Ever

Hey there foodies! I’ve got a delicious and easy recipe for Mississippi Chicken that you can make in your slow cooker or pressure cooker. Whether you’re a fan of low and slow in a crock pot or want a quick dinner with your instant pot -this chicken dish is packed with flavor and guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser!

Mississippi Chicken Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 10-12 pepperoncini peppers
  • 1/2 cup pepperoncini juice
  • 2 yellow onions

Instructions for Slow Cooker:

  1. Place chicken & sliced onions in the slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle ranch dressing mix and au jus gravy mix over the chicken.
  3. Place butter on top of the chicken and sprinkle pepperoncini peppers around.
  4. Pour pepperoncini juice on top.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until chicken is tender and cooked through.

Instructions for Pressure Cooker:

  1. Place chicken & sliced onions in the pressure cooker.
  2. Sprinkle ranch dressing mix and au jus gravy mix over the chicken.
  3. Place butter on top of the chicken and sprinkle pepperoncini peppers around.
  4. Pour pepperoncini juice over everything.
  5. Close the lid and cook on high pressure for 30 minutes. Let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes before doing a quick release.

Once the chicken is cooked, shred it using two forks and mix everything together in the slow cooker or pressure cooker. You can serve Mississippi Chicken on its own or over rice or mashed potatoes for a hearty meal.

  • ONCE THE CHICKEN IS COOKED, SHRED IT USING TWO FORKS AND MIX EVERYTHING TOGETHER.
