DREAMING OF A BLACK CHRISTMAS: GOTHIC CHRISTMAS AESTHETIC

BY POPULAR DEMAND… I GIVE YOU, THE GOTHIC CHRISTMAS AESTHETIC GUIDE! IF YOU’RE DREAMING OF A BLACK CHRISTMAS, I’VE GOT YOU COVERED!

THE GOTHIC CHRISTMAS AESTHETIC

Tis the season to be spooky, my darklings! Forget about the traditional red and green décor, it’s time to deck the halls in shades of obsidian and embrace your inner goth this Christmas. Here’s your guide to having an all black Christmas.

Black Christmas Decor

Start by selecting the most brooding, ominous Christmas tree you can find. If you’re going faux and choose an eternally living tree, there are some amazing black faux trees too. Forget the cheery evergreens; I’m talking about a tree that looks like it just emerged from the shadows of the Forbidden Forest. Adorn it with black baubles and on’t forget a tree topper with an extra touch of morbid elegance.

Chic Black Christmas Clothes

My personal specialty – all black outfits! I don’t ditch my typical style during the holidays. Here are some of my favorite holiday style finds fit for a goth queen.

Gothic Christmas Gifts

Move over Santa. This year, we’re channeling our inner Krampus. Except instead of being mischievous and malevolent, we’re buying people what they really want… all black everything.

    Macabre Christmas Music

Gather your friends for some sinister caroling. Instead of the usual cheerful tunes, opt for gothic renditions of classic Christmas music. Picture it: a group of dark souls listening to “Silent Night” in a minor key. Bonus points if you can find a choir of night walkers to join in. I even put a Spotify playlist together for you to get into the holiday spirit!

    Graveyard-inspired Wrapping Paper

Ditch the jolly snowmen and elves paper and wrap your gifts in something a bit darker. Choose wrapping paper that looks like aged tombstones or features skeletal reindeer prancing through a graveyard. It’s the perfect way to let your loved ones know you care enough to give them the gift of a hauntingly good time.

    The Feast of Shadows

Last but not least, revamp your holiday menu with a feast fit for a coven. Instead of traditional Christmas ham, serve up a sinister black pasta dish, and for dessert, indulge in a dark chocolate cake. I also have a really fun recipe for voodoo doll gingerbread cookies you can try out!
