DIY BOX OF ROSES

flowers and valentine’s day go hand in hand. every year around this time, i notice an insane amount of ads and posts promoting forever roses, or boxes of roses that last over a year.

so i decided to get crafty, grabbed some supplies and made my own diy box of roses!

how to make your own diy box of roses

i don’t know about you, but i’m not in the mood to spend hundreds of dollars on a box of flowers. you think i’m kidding right?

this popular brand (venus et fleur) sells a small heart shaped box of roses for $394! the larger box costs… wait for it… $549!

my diy box of roses only cost me $20! and if you want to make it in another color combination or shape, it will still cost you the same price!

even better… it will last forever because the flowers are fake!

INSTRUCTIONS

TO START YOUR PROJECT, SPRAY PAINT YOUR TIN. I USED BLACK SPRAY PAINT, BUT YOU CAN USE ANY COLOR YOU LIKE. YOU CAN ALSO USE ANY SHAPED TIN OR SHALLOW BOX.

AFTER YOUR BOX HAS DRIED, FIGURE OUT WHETHER OR NOT YOU NEED TO ADD SOMETHING TO MAKE THE FLOWERS POP OUT OF THE TOP.

SINCE MY TIN WAS A LITTLE DEEPER THAN THE FLOWERS, I USED SOME BUBBLE WRAP. I USED A LITTLE HOT GLUE TO HOLD IT IN PLACE.

YOU CAN ALSO USE floral foam – BUT I OPTED TO USE SOMETHING I HAD ALREADY TO SAVE MONEY.

IF YOUR FAKE FLOWERS HAVE STEMS, cut the stems OFF WITH SCISSORS. I USED PINK ROSES, BUT AGAIN, USE WHATEVER COLOR YOU LIKE!

PUT A LITTLE HOT GLUE ON THE BOTTOM. WORKING AROUND THE EDGE OF THE BOX, PLACE THE FLOWERS ONTO THE BUBBLE WRAP. ADD FLOWERS AROUND THE EDGES AND THEN FILL IN THE GAPS.

IF YOU WANT TO MAKE IT EXTRA FANCY, YOU CAN EVEN SPRAY A LITTLE PERFUME OR ROSE OIL ON THEM!
