The best drugstore moisturizers from target - erin perry - ice cream & neon dreams

A good Moisturizer is one of the most important parts of my skincare routine. Second to sunscreen, I never forget to incorporate moisturizer into my daily prep. Just about everyone uses a daily facial moisturizer, but it can be difficult to figure out what kind to buy and not break the bank, so I’ve compiled a list of the best drugstore moisturizers.

Since I have fairly dry skin, I use moisturizer twice a day. Since I use it so regularly, it’s important for me to find budget friendly options. I’m here to tell you, you don’t have to spend $500 on some lavish, gold infused moisturizer. You can easily stop by your local drugstore and pick up an option that will get the job done.

The Best Drugstore Moisturizers

A good moisturizer can help with rough patches, dark spots, sensitive skin and keep your face hydrated. Figuring out what brand and product to buy can be so overwhelming. So, I’m rounding up my top drugstore moisturizer picks that you can find at your local drugstore.

To make things easier – I found all of these at Target, which you can find online or in store. Most are also available on Amazon & other local drugstores.

Whether you’ve go dry, oily or combination skin, there are ton of options that won’t cost you an arm and a leg. I personally picked up each of the below facial moisturizers and tested them. The best part? They’re all under $20!

Best Drugstore Face Moisturizers

I bought about 20 different moisturizers, then narrowed them down to my top 5 best drugstore moisturizers.

Aveeno Positively Radiant Dark Spot Corrector Cream with Total Soy Complex

Best Drugstore Moisturizer: Aveeno Positively Radiant

I’m a huge fan of Aveeno products. This moisturizer is great if you have any dark spots or scars from acne. It uses Total Soy Complex, which helps give you smoother, softer skin. It’s clinically proven to help with the appearance of dark spots and discoloration. I like to use this both in the morning and evening because it has SPF 15!

CeraVe Ultra-Light Moisturizing Face Lotion with Sunscreen

The Best Drugstore Moisturizer: Cerave Ultra Light Moisturizer

CeraVe was developed by dermatologists to help moisturize your skin while provided SPF 30 coverage! Hello sunscreen! I really like that this moisturizer has a matte finish, so it doesn’t leave your skin looking and feeling oily before putting on makeup. It also has Hyaluronic Acid, which helps your skin stay moisturized for longer.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream

The Best Drugstore Moisturizer: Neutrogena Hydroboost Moisturizer

Neutrogena Hydro Boost is great for extra dry skin. It’s a gel formula, which helps quench extra dry skin, keeping it smooth and hydrated. I really like the unique water gel formula because your skin absorbs it quickly, like a gel, but moisturizes like a cream.

Like the CeraVe, it has Hyaluronic acid, leaving you with healthier looking, smoother skin. It’s also oil, dye and fragrance free, which is great if you have sensitive skin. I also really like that it doubles as a foundation primer!

Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer

The Best Drugstore Moisturizer: Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer

Cetaphil is one of my go to, tried and true brands. There’s a reason it’s so popular, it’s great for every skin type! This fragrance free moisturizer has SPF 15 and hydrates your skin while also improving skin texture. If you’re not 100% sure what kind of skin you have, or have sensitive skin, this is a great product to start with.

Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer Sensitive Skin

The Best Drugstore Moisturizer: Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer Sensitive Skin

Fun fact, Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer is America’s #1 UV moisturizer! That’s a great place to start, right!? The best way to protect against aging skin is by preventing damage from sun, aka daily SPF. This moisturizer has SPF 15 for sensitive skin. I like that it’s really gentle and lightweight, it’s also fragrance free! The formula also includes vitamin E and aloe, which help your skin healthy, moisturized and hydrated. Since it’s oil-free, your skin won’t feel greasy.

Other Targeted Favorites

Tinted Moisturizers

The Best Drugstore Moisturizer: Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Aging Perfector

Most of the time, I prefer wearing a tinted moisturizer. Rather than wearing a ton of makeup, I like that a tinted moisturizer gives a “no makeup look”, rather than full coverage like foundation. Depending on what you’re looking for, there are a ton of tinted moisturizers, B.B. creams and C.C. creams at every drugstore.

My favorite drugstore Tinted Moisturizer is Neutrogena’s Healthy Skin Anti-Aging Perfector. It combines, Rentinol, SPF 20 and a sheer coverage. It leaves your skin looking dewy and even, even after you take it off. The best part is that it works while you wear it! It helps even your skin tone and reduce the look of fine lines. Not to mention it has SPF 20 mixed in!

For Oily Skin

The Best Drugstore Moisturizer: Formula 10.0.6 Seriously Shine Free Facial Moisturizer

If you struggle with oily skin, I highly recommend Formula 10.0.6® Seriously Shine Free Moisturizer. Not only does it cost under $6, it’s great for oily or even combination skin. It also contains all vera and bamboo, which help give you a matte, shine free finish. Basically… the aloe keeps your skin soft while the bamboo extract absorbs oil, helping your skin stay balanced.

For Acne Prone Skin

The Best Drugstore Moisturizers: Aveeno Clear Complexion Acne Facial Moisturizer

AVEENO is back on the list! Their Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer helps prevent breakouts and helps clear up blemishes. I really like that’s gentle enough for daily use. It also contains salicylic acid, which helps to fight acne and clear/prevent breakouts. It has the Total Soy Complex I mentioned above, which helps even out your skin tone and texture. It’s also oil free, non comedogenic and hypoallergenic.

Moisturizer With SPF

The Best Drugstore Moisturizer: Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer Sensitive Skin

I love Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer Sensitive Skin I mentioned above, but generally like using a moisturizer with a stronger SPF. I recently started using Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer with Broad Spectrum SPF 30, also formulated for sensitive skin! It’s gentle and super lightweight, leaving your skin with a healthy glow.

For Anti Aging Benefits

The Best Drugstore Moisturizers: POND'S Rejuveness Anti-Wrinkle Cream

When it comes to anti aging serums, techniques, procedures and products, there are millions of options and recommendations. One of my favorite products I picked up from Target is POND’S Rejuveness Anti-Wrinkle Cream. Fun fact, One Rejuveness jar is sold every 10 seconds!

The formula contains essential ingredients like Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), which are known to gently remove dull surface skin cells and smooth the appearance of fine lines. Made with Collagen, a fiber known to increase skins strength, elasticity, and to improve the healthy appearance of skin. And infused with Vitamin E, an antioxidant that is known to moisturize and maintain the healthy appearance of skin.

For Your Body

The Best Drugstore Moisturizers: Palmers Cocoa Butter

Ever walk into the body moisturizer aisle at the store and feel totally overwhelmed? There are hundreds of options, scents, formulas and eye catching packages. My favorite body lotion of all time is Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturizing Body Lotion. 100% can’t live without it. It’s made with our cocoa butter and enriched with vitamin E, helping to heal dry skin. It’s also great for smoothing out stretch marks, uneven skin tone & dry spots. I also love it to soothe my skin when I’ve gotten too much sun!
