Bacon Cheddar & Egg Stuffed Cromelette Recipe
Last month I traveled to Lincoln Nebraska for work and had the most amazing breakfast. Everyone I met told me I had to stop by The Coffee House and try their famous cromelettes. I didn’t just eat one. I literally went every single morning & contemplated buying a dozen and trying to bring them home in my luggage.
I scoured the internet to try to find them here in San Diego or a frozen version I could order online, but struck out. So, after dreaming of omelette stuffed croissants, I decided to try to figure out how to make them at home! And it’s your lucky day because now I have a Bacon Cheddar & Egg Stuffed Cromelette Recipe to share!
what is a cromelete?
A CROMELETTE IS A CROISSANT FILLED WITH AN OMELETTE!
THE COFFEE HOUSE SELLS 5 DIFFERENT DIFFERENT VERSIONS:
- BACON, EGG & CHEESE
- SAUSAGE, EGG & CHEESE
- EGG & CHEESE
- SPINACH, EGG & CHEESE
- ROASTED GARLIC POTATO
MY FAVORITE WAS THE BACON, SO THAT’S WHAT I MADE AT HOME. BUT YOU CAN USE ANY OF YOUR FAVORITE OMELETTE RECIPE FILLINGS!
TO MAKE THEM AT HOME, I USED PUFF PASTRY DOUGH AS A QUICK CROISSANT HACK. THEN, MADE SOME SCRAMBLED EGGS. YOU CAN DEFINITELY MAKE THE OMELETTE WITH THE BACON & CHEESE IN IT. BUT I PREFER LAYERING THEM.
I MADE MY CROMELETTE’S SQUARE TO PACK MORE OMELETTE INSIDE EACH, BUT YOU CAN ALSO MAKE SMALLER, TRIANGLE SHAPED ONES!
