Red Rocks Amphitheater Denver Colorado Tony Perry and Doug the Dog Family Hike
Its been a while since Tony, Doug & I got to go on a family vacation! Doug got to get his puppy passport this summer and go with me to Mexico, but Tony was on tour and couldn’t make it. I’ve been racking my brain for last minute mini-vacay ideas. I was doing some late night Pinterest-ing and stumbled upon a bunch of photos of Denver. Denver is one of the few places I’ve never visited Tony on tour because it’s so close to home that it usually doesn’t make sense to plan a visit around!

We booked the trip super last minute, but it was really easy and inexpensive to plan. We stayed at the Four Seasons Denver, in downtown Denver just a couple of blocks away from Larimer Square. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I’m obsessed with the Four Seasons Hotels. We stayed at the Four Seasons in Punta Mita a couple of months ago and Tony and I also stayed at the Four Seasons in Scottsdale with Doug earlier in the year! Not only are they one of the nicest, most comfortable hotel chains, they’re also super dog friendly!

We also made a super fun YouTube video of our trip! Be sure to check it out and scroll down for more about our vacation!

Puppy Pampering

Ok, so I was obviously super excited to see that there were champagne and chocolates for us in our room. Until I noticed the entire corner of the room dedicated to Doug! There was the cutest little welcome note & a bed set up just for him! They also had a full treat platter and toys set up! I can’t get over how cute the freshly baked puppy cupcakes and cookies were. He’s still obsessed with the giant toy bone they gave him. The little touches make everything so personal and really make you feel excited for your stay.

Also… I love that they were so dog friendly at the pool! They set a little spot up for Doug and brought him some water while we sipped on cocktails. The pool area was so relaxing & it was so fun being able to have the pup with us!

Room Service

You guys know how I feel about robes… and the FS doesn’t disappoint. As a robe connoisseur, they have one of my all time favorite hotel robes. They also have the most insane room service menu. A lot of times you’ll end up with some stale chicken strips and weird burger when you order room service. Not at the FSD… let’s just take a second to appreciate our breakfast. I ordered fruit & granola – it was so pretty I didn’t want to ruin the aesthetic. The cold brew we ordered came with the coolest ice cubes too. They were half coffee & half cream, that way when they melt your coffee still tastes good & isn’t all watered down! I’m definitely going to try to recreate that recipe! Also… in typical FS fashion, they brought Doug a fresh biscuit with our room service order. They know the way to my (and Doug’s) heart.

The Location

Downtown Denver is the perfect place to stay. It’s close to a ton of restaurants, shopping & cool neighborhoods. We were walking distance to a ton of spots. The weather was super warm, so we walked almost everywhere. We ended up at a restaurant called Tupelo Honey on our first night, which was about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. It was really funny because we realized we had just been at one of their other locations in Nashville! I ordered a frosé which is a boozy, frozen slushy rosΓ©. HELLO, amazing! Another thing I’m adding to the list of recipes I need to recreate!

Denver Restaurants:

A few other yummy places we tried that I’d totally recommend checking out:

Edge (inside of the Four Seasons) – go for happy hour and order theΒ 7X Waygu Sliders, Brussel Sprouts & Cheese Plate.

TamayoΒ – go for brunch & order the Bottomless Margarita Brunch.

LingerΒ – obsessed with this place, be sure to sit by the window or on the roof deck.

Little Man Ice CreamΒ – right next to Linger, stop by for dessert afterwards!

Bar Dough – such amazing pizza and fresh pasta!

Another awesome part of the location is how close it is to so many outdoor activities. We went to the Red Rocks Amphitheater and hiked around for a bit. There were tons of other spots we definitely want to check out the next time we visit! I’m hoping we can plan a trip back in the winter for snowboarding and some winter wonderland adventures!
