The Desert Oasis: Four Seasons Scottsdale
It’s been a crazy couple weeks since we got back from Scottsdale for Tony’s birthday celebration!
We were so lucky to start our trip staying at one of our all time favorite hotels, the Four Seasons Scottsdale at Troon North. In case you missed it, we visited the same hotel in February of 2017! We loved it so much, we’ve been dying to plan a trip back with Doug!
YES! The hotel, along with all other Four Seasons are pet friendly! You know we love traveling with Doug, so it’s always great when resorts go above and beyond welcoming dogs.
Our Stay at the Four Seasons Scottsdale
The Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North is the type of place that you never want to leave. Located in the Troon North area of Scottsdale, this Four Seasons property is a total desert oasis. The accommodations, amenities, spa and restaurants are all amazing. I highly recommend the Four Seasons Resort for any trip to Scottsdale, or even if you’re a local looking for a quick staycation.
It’s the perfect spot for a romantic weekend, girl’s trip or family vacation. Not only is it absolutely stunning, there are a ton of things to do and see right on the property, meaning you don’t have to leave! We spent 2 nights at the hotel and didn’t even leave.
You can book a spa treatment, rent a poolside cabana, eat at one of their amazing restaurants, hike the nearby peaks or just relax by the fire in your room. The opportunities are endless & won’t disappoint.
About the Resort
The Four Seasons are known for their accommodations & amenities. And Troon North goes above and beyond.
One of my favorite parts about the property is how it’s laid out. It’s a fairly small resort, but it never feels crowded. It literally felt like we were the only people staying. It’s quiet, beautiful and definitely luxe (without feeling stuffy).
Each room is in an adobe casita, which has its very own fireplace. Doug love laying in front of the fireplace in the mornings, it was pretty cute! He definitely got into vacation mode.
About Our Stay
We spent most of our time laying out by the pool and in the hot tub! We got lucky and even though it rained a bit, it was still fairly warm. All of the staff was amazing and set up umbrellas for us so we could still sit by the pool and relax without getting rained on. It was actually super relaxing laying by the pool with snacks and a few drinks, listening to the rain.
When we weren’t laying by the pool, we spent a lot of time just lounging in our casita. The layout of the room makes you feel like you have your own little apartment. We had drinks and snacks delivered to the room, sat out on our patio and looked at the mountains, watched movies & just took time to relax and recharge.
We also “treated ourselves” to a couple of massages. As you know, I’m all about spa time. I love booking a massage on every vacation. It’s my favorite way to relax and pamper myself. The spa at Troon North is amazing I had literally the best massage of my entire life on this last trip. Still dreaming of how relaxing it was!
And of Course… The Food
A blog recap of our trip wouldn’t be complete without me going into detail about the food! The Four Seasons Troon North has two of my favorite restaurants, Proof Canteen & Talavera.
Talavera is the hotel’s recently reimagined modern steakhouse. The restaurants is a contemporary Spanish steakhouse that focuses on traditional Latin ingredients and specialties like Paella, dry aged steak, jamón Ibérico, fresh seafood and a killer selection of tapas. They also have a selection of over 500 new and old world wines and crafted cocktails. Not to mention the restaurant has one of the most beautiful views of the city below!
Proof is the more casual dining option at the hotel. We opted to eat here for breakfast and lunch. They serve home style comfort food and craft cocktails, as well as a range of beers on tap. You can get anything from chicken & waffles to a Maine lobster roll. I got really lucky and was able to get one of the last slices of the kitchen’s special Girl Scout Cookie Cake! It was a Caramel Delight/Samoa inspired ice cream cake that was out of this world. I also love that you can grab a cocktail and play a game of shuffleboard in the main dining room. So much fun!
A Few Tips:
The Four Season Resort Scottsdale at Troon North is located about 40 minutes north of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. We opted to take an Uber out to the hotel rather than rent a car.
The resort also offers a limited number of Mercedes Benz on the property for guests to use during their stay, making visiting area attractions easier if you don’t plan on renting a car.
When we visited (in March) the weather was really mild. It was sunny and about 70 F with a few light showers. During the summer, it can get to over 100 degrees, so keep that in mind when planning!
If you’re planning on bringing a dog, be sure to let the hotel know in advance! The hotel welcomes two pets up to 30 lbs for no additional fee. There is a pet and cleaning fee of USD 75 plus tax though!
I highly recommend planning your next stay at the Four Seasons Troon North for a relaxing getaway in the mountains!
