Save Your Money Honey

Money Saving Sites

Alright, let’s talk about some real world stuff today: MONEY. And more importantly, tricks to save it! Who doesn’t love saving money!? I’m all about a good bargain and wait patiently for things I want to go on sale. Over the years, I’ve tried it all. But I’ve found that one of the easiest ways to save money is by shopping online. SO, I though it would be fun (and hopefully helpful) to share some of my money saving tips with you guys! Alright, let’s do this!

shopping tips

One of my new favorite things (that I don’t feel like a lot of people know about) is a browser extension called Honey. Basically, you install the browser extension and it automatically applies the best coupon code for you at checkout. For real guys, this isn’t a sponsored post (but hey, Honey… if you want me to promote you I’m totally down). I’m just that obsessed with it and want to share the magic. No more googling coupon codes and trying copy and paste one after another that don’t work. It’s basically free money, no catch. it’s especially useful when you’re shopping on Amazon (which I’m addicted to). If you’re not on Amazon Prime, fix that. Honey detects savings opportunities on Amazon and shows you the lowest price of all the sellers. BAM! Just like that! They also offer cash back incentives. Kind of like how credit cards tell you that you’ll earn points. Except no games. Each bonus is a surprise. You can get anywhere from 0-100% back from your purchase. May the odds forever be in your favor!

Speaking of Amazon Prime: what’s up with that? Oh it’s just the greatest invention ever. I literally never go to the store anymore. When you sign up, you get a ton of benefits. The major one being FREE 2 Day Shipping! For real, you get stuff delivered in 2 days and don’t have to pay more for it! You also get free photos storage, music, tv & movie streaming, restaurant delivery and SO MUCH MORE! Not only is it a super solid investment, it makes an awesome gift. I’ve gotten everyone in my life hooked on it. You can also add family members to your account for free! Want more details, your wish granted (click here)!

Many of you know I also use an app called SHOPSTYLE to share details on my outfits and clothing. One of the coolest features of SHOPSTYLE is that you can set up an alert to find out when something you want goes on sale. See a product you like, but aren’t ready to commit to the price? Set a Sale Alert for it! You can Sale Alerts for searches you’ve made or for specific products.  Then, they send you updates on sales as soon as they come in to make sure you get the best deal.

So how do you set up an alert?

  1. Hover over the bell and click “Get Sale Alert”.

2. Pick what you’re setting your Sale Alert for:

3. You can use the filters on the left to tailor your search!

4. Once you’ve found the perfect Search, click “Add Sale Alert” in the upper right-hand corner to set a Sale Alert for a search. Then, they will email you when any product in your search goes on sale!

Can’t get enough? Here are some other random websites you might not have heard of!

ThredUP –  It’s kind of like going to a thrift store… except you can stay in your pajamas and do it in bed at 2 am when you’re bored (like me). Not to mention there are millions of items and you can just search for what you’re looking for instead of hoping to find something in your size!

Gazelle – I recently stumbled upon this site when I needed to sell my old iPhone (upgrade!). Basically, you can just sell your old electronics – and they pay for your shipping!

Zilok – Ok, this is totally cool. Not ready to buy something? RENT IT! You can literally rent anything here, from a ladder or pair of skis to a guitar or a boat!

GasBuddy – Tells you where the cheapest gas is in your area, cha ching!

Dealupa – I’m so lazy when it comes to checking all of the deal sites every day. Not anymore! See everything from Groupon, Living Social, Amazon Local in one place so you can see who has the best packages.

Yapta – As a frequent traveler, I’m all about finding hotel and airline deals. The best part about Yapta is that it updates in real time, finding the best deals across all websites. Did I mention you can haggle with them!? Also… If the price of your flight drops below what you paid, Yapta helps you get a refund for the difference!
