Revenge Travels: New York & North Carolina
Last week was literally the most insane week of travel. From cancelled flights & hurricanes to eating my heart out and random naked people in New York. Here’s a quick recap of the first leg of my trip!
NEW YORK CITY
So I got up at 4 AM for my flight from San Diego to New York. I arrived at the airport to some pretty awesome news… my flight was cancelled! After some serious negotiating with United, I got switched onto a different airline and was able to jump on a direct flight a few hours later. One perk of being stuck at the airport: Stone Brewing. I got to catch up on some emails and fill up on some awesome pretzel bites & drinks.
I got into New York the night before my boyfriend, so I spent a couple of hours just wandering around. I don’t normally stay in Times Square, so it was fun to do touristy things. One thing that I will never understand: why people wait outside of the M&M store for like 2 hours.
Wine? Tiny little cookies and cupcakes? Yes please.
A few of the “sights”… I’m sorry but Disney characters with their heads off is just creepy. That would have traumatized me as a child. Oh and Naked Cow Girl? Killing it… and yes, completely topless.
I got a ton of questions about the hotel I stayed at. If you follow me on Snapchat, you know how amazed I was by the magical mirror TV. Yea… that mirror straight up turns into a TV. Some other perks: robes, slippers, awesome shower products, snacks, a super swanky bar downstairs & a very “large for NYC” King sized bed. If you’re ever in New York, I highly recommend checking out The Time (they also have a location in Nyack). My super chic marble luggage is from Calpaks!
CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA
The next day I met up with my boo thang. Some highlights of the day included:
- Riding the subway for the first time
- Stereotypical NYC piece of pizza
- The Meatball Shop (one of my fave restaurants in the world)
- Epic PTV show at the Hammerstein Ballroom
CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA
Somehow I didn’t get very many pictures from Charlotte? Lazy days are my favorite days. Sometimes just walking around and going to normal restaurants is more fun and you get a better feel for the vibe of a city. I’m pretty sure I ate a Jimmy John’s Veggie sandwich and about 50 cups of coffee that day.
Stay tuned for more on the rest of my trip: Florida & Georgia!
