Revenge Abroad: Mexico Travel Essentials
Mexico here I come!
As I started packing for my upcoming trip to Mexico City, I thought it would be fun to share a sneak peek into my travel bag & essentials with you guys!
I’m only going to be there for a few days, so it’s a pretty easy pack job. One of my top priorities for traveling: a backpack. I usually check my luggage (because I’m lazy and don’t want to try to jam my bag into the overhead bin), so having a backpack is key. It’s so much easier than using a purse or bag. You can fit way more, stay organized and run through the airport with it on your back if necessary. I always have my computer, charger, camera(s), phone charger & backup phone power supply. Having a backup supply of makeup is also essential. I’ve had my luggage delayed & lost a handful of times, so having some extra makeup can be a lifesaver. I’ve mentioned it before, but Peter Thomas Roth CC Cream is next level. My skin gets super dry, so it helps revive me after a long flight. Chapstick & Makeup Remover Wipes are also essential. My favorite makeup remover wipes are from Neutrogena, they’re oil free and smell like grapefruit! I’ve literally used them as a makeshift makeup remover shower wipe down when I got delayed overnight. Did I mention sunglasses? Oh yea, those are literally in my front pocket in to shield the world from my grogginess. I usually bring some cheapies with me in case they get lost or scratched. Amazon is a great resource for trendy, cheap sunnies like these.
Other things in my bag:
- The Bag Itself… How cute is this Beach Bag?
- Passport & Passport Case
- Herschel Backpack to throw all of my crap in
- Polaroid Instant Print Digital Camera... awesome because it saves your pictures to a Micro SD card, but you can also print them out of the camera itself!
- Phone Case because you know your girl drops her phone and launches it across the room multiple times a day (butter fingers)
- Big Floppy Hat – can’t let the sung get to this baby face
- Outfit Numero Uno: Cutoff Shorts & a fun top. I love these One Teaspoon Shorts . I got this For Love & Lemons shirt as a gift, but real talk its way more $ than I’d normally spend, so I included a few more budget friendly options down below! These Steve Madden sandals are SOOO comfortable. They are great for travel because they match literally everything. Oh & I can’t forget some gold rings because I love having some bling but don’t want to risk losing anything expensive!
- Outfit Numero Dos: Showtime. I’m a romper girl, they’re comfortable, cute & fun. The majority of my closet is black, but this romper from Nasty Gal is fun because it has some lace detailing. I usually wear flats or booties to shows because heels aren’t practical. You’re standing around for long periods of time, it’s crowded & easier to jump around in something comfortable. I love these Lace Up Flats because they’re feminine and add some fun to the outfit. I also normally use Cross Body bags like THIS ONE because it’s easier to keep track of & I can keep it close. I’m kind of crazy neurotic, worrying about my phone or wallet getting stolen.
I’m literally SO excited for my trip. Where should I go!? And more importantly… WHERE SHOULD I EAT!? Adios amigos! I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures and give full reviews of all of the tasty treats I get my hands on.
