Pesto Brie Cheese Pull Apart Bread

peto and brie pull apart bread recipe

Is there anything better than melted cheese on bread? Yes, yes there is. Throw some pesto on top and prepare for taste bud sensory overload! One of my most popular recipes on the blog is my Jalapeno Popper Cheesy Pull Apart Bread. Probably because it combines carbs, cheese & the ability to eat with your hands. I whipped up a new version of one of my most requested dishes for our Thanksgiving appetizers and it’s sure to become a holiday staple. Pesto Brie Cheese Pull Apart Bread is here to stay!

Pesto Brie Cheese Pull Apart Bread

Pull apart bread is my go to easy appetizer. The term “pull apart” refers to the way the bread is cut, so you can pull bites apart as you go!

There are a ton of pull apart bread recipes on Pinterest. Oddly enough, I didn’t find any with brie cheese! In the world of cheese, brie is one of the best. It’s creamy, it’s rich and it makes everything it touches taste more delicious. Not to mention it has supreme melting ability.

HOW TO MAKE THE BEST pull apart bread

The Bread

The best bread to use for pull apart bread is crusty sourdough or another dense type of bread, but it works well with any type of crusty loaf.

The reason it works better with sourdough is because the bread is denser. The bread holds together better when you pull bites off.

The Cheese

You can buy any type of brie cheese. You don’t have to go overboard and buy the super expensive kind. Just your standard wheel of brie will do.

The Pesto

I used some leftover pesto that I made out of crushed garlic, pine nuts, olive oil, salt, fresh basil leaves and parmesan cheese. But you can buy whatever pre made pesto you want. If you have a nut allergy, you can find alternatives as well!

Pull Apart Party Bread

Cheesy pull apart bread is the perfect centrepiece for any party. It also makes a great holiday appetizer or game day snack.

It’s always the most requested party food by my family and friends. I like to make it ahead of time and pull it out during the party or bring it to wherever we’re celebrating. The best way to make it ahead of time is to use softened butter instead of melted butter and wedge it into the cracks, then stuff it with brie cheese. Wrap it in tin foil and bake before serving!
