Alright, let’s talk about the most dreaded time of year: swimsuit season. Does anyone else cringe at the idea of having to find swimsuits? There’s nothing worse than going to the mall and trying swimsuits on in fluorescent lit rooms. This year, I switched things up a bit and did all of my shopping online. I found a handful of suits that I liked and had them sent to my house. Then, I waited until a morning when I was feeling good and in a peppy mood and tried them on in my own room, with my own lighting & mirrors. Literally a game changer. The best part? I just popped the ones I didn’t like back in the mail and returned them! I’ve gotta say, I’m down for the One Piece trend. Please, never go out of style!

There are SO MANY cute one piece suits out right now. Not only are they super cute and sassy, but they’re figure flattering & comfortable!

A few things I try to keep in mind when looking for suits online:

  1. Figure out a ballpark size. I usually order my suits a size up. I feel self conscious when my suit is super tight or itsy bitsy. Normally I wear a Size Small in clothing, but tend to order suits in a Medium.
  2. Read reviews. I like to find websites that have reviews for size and fit. Some sites even allow users to upload photos and sizing info. That way you can gauge how the suit fits and whether or not it’s true to size.
  3. Know what you’re looking for. I’m all about the monokini right now. Meaning those “barely there” one pieces with cutouts and plunging necklines. Take some time and look at different styles and get an idea of which ones catch your eye and look like they’re you’re style / something you’d be comfortable in.
  4. Lighting is key. That’s why trying them on at home is way more comfortable. Find a mirror with good lighting in your house. Either put on some music or invite a friend over, have some fun! It’s all about staying positive and being yourself. If you’re 21+, maybe have a mimosa and loosen up a bit.
  5. Return the rejects. If you don’t LOVE it, return it! Make sure you check the store’s return policy before purchasing. I like to pick stores that have free returns. The beauty of buying and returning is that you’re not stuck with something that you’re not happy with!

So get ready for summer and make sure you’re the best dressed babe by the beach this summer with one of my favorite one pieces under $50!

1. Ruffle Sleeve – Old Navy 2. Khaki Green – H&M 3. White Plunge – ASOS 4. Lace Up – Forever 21 5. Studded – Missguided 6. Fuchsia V – Kenneth Cole 7. High Neck Mesh – TJ MAXX 8. Lace Up – H&M 9. Strappy Low Cut – Laundry

The suit in my pictures is from a site called AdoreMe. I like it because it’s got a little more coverage in the bikini. I’m obsessed with the pink studded suit, totally my style. It’s only $21 and also comes in black! I also love the lace up suit from Forever 21 that comes in bright yellow and white (only $28). Generally, I look for suits that have interesting necklines and backs. I think the High Neck Mesh suit would be awesome for a day swimming in the ocean though – less funny tan lines and no swimsuit mishaps! Also, I think it would double as a super cute top under shorts!

FINALLY… Here a few more faves under $50!
