Loaded Garlic Pizza Nacho Cheese Fries

Sometimes I feel like I’m 70 years old. Honestly, I love staying home. I don’t care if it’s Saturday night and everyone I know is out at bars or checking out a trendy new restaurant. Usually, I opt to stay in and watch a movie with Tony & Doug. I mean, is there really anything better than lounging in your pajamas, turning your couch into a giant bed with pillows & blankets, flipping through Netflix for 20 minutes before deciding on a movie & making snacks?? Nope, sounds like heaven to me.

Given that I am an old lady stuck in a 30 year old body, I’ve mastered the art of snack making. Everything from Ice Cube Tray Pizza Rolls to My Dad’s Famous Potstickers! The other night, we decided to stay in on a Friday night and catch on movies. In true Iron Chef fashion, I took great pride in the challenge to whip up some epic snacks. I browsed through our cupboards and freezer and came up with a recipe. You guys, I think I outdid myself on this one… I made Loaded Garlic Pizza Nacho Cheese Fries. It sounds like a mouthful, and I promise your mouth will be full of cheesy goodness if you whip this recipe up.

To take sh*t to the next level, I took a simple “cheese sauce” (fancy, I know) and added garlic. Adding chopped garlic made it sooo tasty. I honestly feel like movie theaters need to add garlic to their nacho cheese sauce. Considering starting a petition.

My other secret ingredient for this recipe is Pepperoni Jerky. Seriously guys, it’s a real thing. While you can totally use normal pepperoni, pepperoni jerky is actually flavored like pizza. It’s flavored with real pizza toppings, like tomato sauce, Parmesan cheese, garlic, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes – so every bite tastes like a mini pizza.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven according to the directions on the frozen french fries package. Then, bake according to the same directions. For crispier fries, leave in for 2 – 3 more minutes. I recommend using cooking spray on the baking sheet so they don’t stick.
  2. While your fries are baking, combine about 2 cups of nacho cheese sauce and your chopped garlic. Microwave for 20 second intervals in a microwave safe dish, stirring in between. Once the sauce is warm, set it aside.
  3. Slice your pepperoni jerky and green onion.
  4. After the fries are cooked to your liking, pull them out of the oven. Drizzle the nacho cheese sauce. Then, top with pepperoni jerky and green onion. Serve hot and try to resist the urge not to share!
