How to Make Baja Blast Gelato Recipe
If you’re like me, you’re patiently waiting to try the new Baja Blast Gelato! Taco Bell announced that their Baja Blast flavored gelato will be released at Taco Bell locations nationwide for a limited time this summer. While I wait for it’s release, I decided to make my own version at home!
The iconic BAJA BLAST soda is a Tropical Lime flavor. Incorporating it into a frozen dessert makes it the perfect cool, refreshing dessert for summer.
How to Make Baja Blast Gelato at Home
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of Mountain Dew Baja Blast Soda
- 1.5 oz lime Jell-o Mix
- 1.5 oz berry berry Jello-o Mix
Directions:
I used my Ninja Creami to make this “gelato”. Technically it’s not an actual gelato because I didn’t use milk or cream. But if you’ve ever use the Creami, you know it does an amazing job of making ice cream & sorbet fluffy and creamy. I opted to make it more of a sorbet & absolutely loved the flavor & texture.
In a small microwave safe mug, heat 1 cup of Baja Blast soda for one minute. Whisk in the 2 jell-o mixes until dissolved. Then add your remaining 1 cup of cold Baja Blast soda. Freeze for 24 hours in the Ninja Creami container.
To turn the mixture into “ice cream” – run the Ninja Creami on the sorbet setting. You will most likely need to respin it. Then, enjoy your Taco Bell inspired treat!
