Hammond’s Ice Cream Shop in San Diego is the best spot for ice cream fans who can’t decide what they want to order. That’s because you don’t have to pick just one flavor! Or even two! You can order a flight of three, six or even 32 flavors! The best part is you get your flavors served in mini cones, served in a cute little stand!
The Scoop on Hammonds Ice Cream Shop San Diego
So, what’s the deal with Hammond’s? To break it down for you guys, they have three locations in San Diego: Point Loma, North Park & Pacific Beach. Their ice cream is “super premium”, meaning it’s made with 18% butterfat, which makes it extra rich & creamy! The flavors are dense and creamy, giving you more bang for your flavor buck.

Let’s get down to business… each Hammond’s location offers over 300 flavors of Tropical Dreams super premium, Hawaiian ice cream and sorbet. The first time I tried Tropical Dreams ice cream was actually on vacation in Hawaii! Their store in Waimea sells ice cream directly from the factory, in the same building. But you don’t have to go on vacation to try it, because Hammond’s serves a revolving list of flavors daily. In case you were wondering what flavors they serve, here are a few examples:
