It’s almost Christmas! Which only means one thing… I’m doing all of my last minute shopping, baking, cooking, cleaning and crafts! For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you know I actually put up my Christmas tree before Thanksgiving. YOLO. Yea YOLO is still a thing. I do what I want, which means I get the full holiday cheer going as early as possible.

For those of you who haven’t seen our Christmas tree, it’s very “me”. I found a ton of fun food ornaments from Target. The rest of the ornaments definitely go with my “Punk Rock Christmas” vibe.

How To Make Your Own Christmas Ornaments

I had a little extra time on my hands this week, so I whipped up a quick DIY inspired by our edgy, rock n’ roll christmas theme. I made the CUTEST ornaments using some leftover ornaments and temporary tattoos! Seriously!

The greatest part of this DIY is that it’s totally customizable. You can find a ton of fun temporary tattoos on Amazon. I wanted mine to be kind of edgy, so I used matte black ornaments, but you can use any color you want! I also found some white lace tattoos, but you can use any style you want!

Items NeededΒ

  • Temporary Tattoos
  • Blank Ornaments
  • A sponge or small towel
  • Scissors

I found a ton of cute temporary tattoo ideas. You can find them at craft stores or online pretty easily. This is where you can get creative!

When it comes to picking ornaments, I recommend picking ones that are already plain. They can be matte or glossy and it doesn’t matter what color! It’s also helpful picking basic round ones, like these:

Step One: Cut Out Your Tattoo

Just like when you were a kid, cut out the temporary tattoo, leaving a small edge around the design. Keep in mind you want to choose one that will fit on the ornament. You an use one large tattoo or a few small ones.

Step Two: Place the Tattoo

Peel the plastic film off and place the tattoo on the ornament. Make sure you like the placement before committing (you know, just like a real tattoo)!

Wet a sponge or small towel (just like it says on the instructions) and press on the tattoo. Hold for about ten seconds and gently rub it.

Step Three: Grand Reveal

Carefully pull back the paper. If you help the damp sponge on for long enough, it should just glide off.

Careful dry the ornaments off. Voila! Feel free to add more tattoos or start on the next one!
