Home Decor: Skull Vase Floral Arrangement

Skull Vase Floral Arrangement + Erin Aschow + Ice Cream & Neon Dreams

One of my favorite parts about Halloween is decorating. I just went ham at Home Goods, stocking up on as much skull and spider web inspired decor as I could. I like to consider myself a modern day Morticia Addams… who just got a pet unicorn that pooped glitter everywhere. If my house could be black and spooky all year round, I’d be in heaven. I think some strategically placed skulls and skeletons are totally acceptable year round. Especially when they’re in the form of a skull vase floral arrangement!

Skull Vase Floral Arrangement

I love having flowers all over my house, so I decided to get crafty this year and make some skull floral vases to. They’re super easy, super chic and a little bit creepy! It’s also one of my favorite, easy halloween decorations!

Like I said, I got my skull at Home Goods (for about $10), but you can find them at any Halloween Store, on Etsy or even craft stores. They have a ton of similar ones on Amazon as well, all you have to do is get some white paint and careful drip it around the skull to get the same design.

What You’ll Need to Make the Floral Arrangement

  • Skull Vase (shop some awesome Etsy ones here)
  • Floral Foam Block (I bought mine from Amazon)
  • Scissors
  • Fresh Flowers (I actually buy flowers on Amazon as well!)

Instructions

Instead of just throwing your flowers in, I recommend using a floral foam block. You know that stuff that’s super fun to poke and make holes in at the craft store? That way your flowers stick up and stay in place. You can cut it with a knife or scissors, you just want to make sure that it fits well in your vase and doesn’t poke out.

Once you’ve cut it to size, soak the foam block in water (you know, to keep your flowers alive).

Trim your flowers (I recommend trimming them at an angle). Stick them into the foam and arrange/adjust the flowers until they look the way you want!

There you have it! A super easy… and a totally awesome, skull vase floral centerpiece year round!
