DIY: 3 Ingredient Marshmallows
A few months ago I tried making homemade marshmallows and it was a war zone. So messy. So annoying. They tasted like they were from a health food store or something (you know, not quite right). I called it a Pinterest fail and moved on. Can’t win em’ all. THEN… a friend of mine told me you can make marshmallows out of 3 ingredients. You know how I feel about 3 Ingredient Recipes… I’ll literally try any of them. Cheap, easy & 9/10 times super tasty. That’s right, you can put your DIY pants on and make your own Marshmallows with me!
All you need are 3 things:
- Cool Whip (I used Sugar Free)
- Coffee Creamer (I used International Delight, Simply Pure – Caramel)
- Cold Water (technically not even an ingredient because it’s basically free)
Ok, so here’s what you’re going to want to do:
- Get a medium sized bowl, tray or baking sheet, parchment paper, spatula & small cookie cutter ready.
- In the bowl, you’re going to mix 1 container of Cool Whip & about 2 tablespoons of coffee creamer. A little goes a long way. The flavor creamer you choose will give your marshmallows flavor. If you want something simple, go Vanilla. I loved the Caramel ones with my coffee! You could also do Pumpkin Spice, Chocolate, etc. Get creative!
- Then, measure 1/2 cup of water out. Get rid of 2 tablespoons of it. Then mix it in! The water is what’s going to make these puppies freeze up!
- Line your baking sheet with some wax paper & pour the mixture on top. Using the spatula, spread it out evenly.
- Freeze for about 4 hours.
- Get your cute little cookie cutters and some warm water ready. Cut the marshmallows using your cookie cutters and store in tupperware lined with wax paper until you’re ready to eat them!
Gobble them up in your favorite coffee, hot chocolate or by themselves!
