DIY: S’mores Hot Cocoa Jars

DIY S'mores hot cocoa mason jarsS'mores Hot Chocolate RecipeIt’s that time of year… to stress out about money & gift giving! Anyone else struggle to figure out what to get people? Well, I have a great idea for you! S’mores Hot Cocoa Jars! I love making personalized, homemade gifts for my friends and family. Normally, I like to bake cookies. But sometimes, it’s nice to give someone a gift that not only travels well, but can be used after the holidays.

The Perfect Holiday Gift: Hot Chocolate In A Jar

Not only are these hot chocolate jars super easy, tasty & affordable, they’re totally customizable! One way to make them more personal is by writing instructions on a small gift card and tying it on with ribbon. Instruct the recipient to combine the hot cocoa mix with warm milk and stir in the desired amount of hot cocoa mix. You can even include a small scoop or spoon tied on with the ribbon.

These jars are also a really fun party favor. Use them as a fun surprise for guests at baby showers, bridal showers, birthday parties, holiday parties or even bachelorette parties!

What You Need

  • 1 Cup of Powdered Sugar
  • 1 Cup of Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1 Cup of Powdered Milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • Graham Cracker Crumbs
  • Mini Marshmallows
  • Mason Jars

S’mores Inspired Hot Chocolate In A Jar Recipe

This DIY is literally fool proof. You can make more or less depending on the size of your mason jar or how many you want to make!

Mix the Powdered Sugar, Cocoa Powder, Powdered Milk & Salt. Then add a layer of Graham Crackers and Mini Marshmallows. If you plan on making a lot of them, I recommend buying the ingredients in bulk at a store like Costco, Target or on Amazon so you can save money.

Another great idea is to add a few pieces of candy, chocolate chips or candy canes into the mix.

If you plan on shipping your Hot Cocoa Jars, I recommend packing them with some sort of packing peanuts or bubble wrap to keep them intact.
