A chic & easy halloween craft project – learn how to make these DIY marbled pumpkins with nail polish!
You guys know how I feel about marble… if I could paint my face marble and walk around and call it “fashion” I would. I mean, remember those aesthetic AF marble oreos I made? Or my favorite marble print workout gear? Obvi the next step is making my Halloween decor match! So it’s time to marble-ize our Halloween decor with some chic DIY Marbled Pumpkins!
So the tricky thing I’ve found with a lot of marble DIYs is that it ends up just looking like a paint master barfed all over the place. It can be really hard to achieve that “marble design” if you know what I mean. The cool thing about these DIY Marbled Pumpkins is that it’s 1) cheap and 2) super easy. I love that you don’t need to buy any spray paint for this tutorial – you just need nail polish! It’s such a fun pumpkin idea that you can keep out from Halloween through fall.
DIY Marbled Pumpkins with Nail Polish
The magic ingredient in this DIY is nail polish! For real, something you probably already own. I mean, I have like 5 bottles of black nail polish already, so I didn’t even have to buy any! You can use any colors though. I used black, but you could also combine black & white, or use other fun colors! I recommend using white pumpkins because they’re a nice clean canvas. It’s also a lot easier working with mini pumpkins vs a giant one.
Instructions
- Buy some mini white pumpkins. I couldn’t find any in store, so I actually bought mine on Amazon.
- Pick a nail polish. I used this black nail polish, but any will work. You can use multiple colors of nail polish for variation too.
- Pick up a large bowl, or use one that you don’t mind ruining.
- Lay some newspaper or paper bags out on your work surface. That way you don’t ruin anything or accidentally cover your countertop in nail polish.
- Fill your bowl with lukewarm water. Just high enough that you can dip your pumpkin in and completely submerge it.
- Pour a few drops of nail polish into the water. Then, use a toothpick or skewer to stir it a little and create the marbled effect.
- Hold by the stem and dip the pumpkin into the water! I like to slowly submerge my pumpkins in the surface of the water before removing them.
- Slowly pull the pumpkin out and let it drip on top of the water before placing it on your newspaper to dry.
THAT’S IT! Literally, so easy. You can literally cover whatever you want in nail polish now for a fun marble revamp!
