DIY Edible Glitter Ice Cubes
Is there really such a thing as too much glitter? NOPE! Remember that one time I did a confetti photoshootΒ and had glitter stuck in my hair for weeks? Totally worth it. For all my glitter loving gals, this next post has your name written all over it! Not only do these glitter ice cubes make a pretty decoration, you can actually eat them! Or I guess technically drink them! They look oh so sparkly in water, wine or even a mixed drink! I highly recommend whipping up a batch for your next party or girls night!
DIY Glitter Ice Cubes
The process is actually super simple. You make them the same way you would with regular ice cubes. The most important step is picking your glitter! I went with red edible glitter & gold edible glitter, but you can use any color combination you want!
I put about 1/4 teaspoon of edible glitter in each ice cube tray. Then, filled it up about half way with water. I also recommend using hot water, this will keep the cubes clear instead of murky!
Freeze your trays for a couple of hours & then take them out!
They’re kind of messy, so I recommend storing them in a large bag or tupperware container. Just like regular glitter, glitter you can eat gets everywhere!
You can pull a couple out at a time for a fancy treat, or use them to decorate at your next party!
Where to Buy Edible Glitter
There are tons of places to buy edible glitter. I got mine on Amazon & they have tons of colors & shapes. You can even buy little edible gold stars! I found some of the best, most sparkly edible glitter on Etsy. You can also find some colors atΒ Walmart!
What is Edible Glitter Made of?
Alright, so if for some reason you can’t find edible glitter, you can still make them with regular glitter for decoration. Just make sure you don’t put them in your drink! Edible glitter is actually made out of sugar! Its basically just a combination of sugar and food coloring, so its safe to eat!
