Black Metal Baker: My Music

punk rock

I’ve been getting a lot of questions lately asking me about music. What kind of music I like, what I used to do in the music industry, and so on.

Long story short, I used to work as an Artist Rep for a gear company! I worked with a range of artists from Maroon 5 & Metallica to Bruno Mars & Drake! Working in the music industry exposed me to a ton of genres. Growing up, I was exposed to quite a bit of metal. When I say metal, I’m talking Tool, Marilyn Manson, Anthrax, Nine Inch Nails, etc. Let’s just say my parent’s weren’t your conventional soft rock hippies.

AFI

As I got a bit older and started developing my own favorites like Refused, AFI, Coheed & Cambria, The Mars Volta, Bayside, Thrice, and so on and so on. I never considered myself “hardcore” or “metal”… I think mainly because I grew up listening to such  random range of “heavier music”.

It’s safe to say I listen to basically all of the same stuff I did growing up & into my teenage years on a daily basis still. Some days, I wake up feeling like I could go for some Meshuggah, other days I just want to blast Katy Perry and get my roar on. That’s right… going to see Britney in Vegas is on the top of my bucket list, right below going to The Gathering of the Juggalos (kidding, kind of).
