That’s a mouthful… literally. Because I just stuffed my face with like 10 little apple cinnamon french toasts. Is it me, or do things just taste better when they’re small? It’s almost like you can justify eating more because it doesn’t look like a real meal? Did you know there are over 60 thousand posts tagged #minifood on Instagram!? I know… because I totally checked. The world is obviously fascinated by tiny food because not only is it super cute (just like a puppy)…YOU CAN EAT IT!

I’ve gotten a ton of requests to post some more breakfast recipes, so I thought it would be fun to share a cute little recipe that not only tastes amazing, but you can make for friends and totally impress them with your culinary skills. Note: no real culinary skills are required for this recipe.

How To Make Apple Cinnamon French Toast

The magical part of this recipe is that it requires literally very little effort. You don’t even have to turn on your oven! All you need is a toaster and a microwave! Also… it’s a great way to celebrate the fact that Eggo just came out with a brand spanking new flavor: Cinna-Toast Cinnamon Roll Mini Toasts! Which are amazing on their own if you’re feeling lazy.

Ingredients

Toast Your Eggo’s

The first thing you want to do is toast your Eggo’s. I would make 2 “slices” for each person you’re serving. This will make 8 mini toasts. Put the mini toasts in your toaster and adjust to low/medium heat. You’ll have to gauge how hot your toaster normally runs so you don’t burn them. Carefully take them out of the toaster once they’re read and use a knife to cut them apart.

Mix Your Apple Cinnamon Topping

You can easily make the whole batch and save the leftovers for later. Or, make a half batch or a quarter batch.

Open the can of a apple pie filling and empty it into a bowl. Using a butter knife, chop up the apple pieces. It’s pretty easy to cut them up so you can do it in the bowl. You just want each of the pieces to be smaller so they’re bite sized.

Add in about 1/2 cup of caramel sauce, depending on how much you like caramel. Then 1 tablespoon of cinnamon. If you’re making a smaller batch, just use less caramel sauce & cinnamon.

Finally, stir the ingredients well.

Assemble Your Mini French Toasts

Set the mini french toasts up on individual plates or on a serving platter. Then, spoon on a small amount of the apple cinnamon topping. Finally, top with a whipped cream!

Now you’re ready for brunch! You can serve them as finger food, hors d’oeuvres  or in a giant pile and dig in with a fork! They’re a super fun breakfast/brunch idea for birthdays, Valentine’s Day, sleepovers or any special occasion!
