How to Make Your Own Wrapping Paper
I’ve been waiting for SOOOO long to share this post with you guys! About a month ago I took my Christmas decorating to the next level and ordered a bunch of custom wrapping paper on Zazzle!
The vibe of our Christmas decorations is kind of “punk rock“, meaning I opted to stick with a black-and-white color scheme and metallic accents. I spent hours searching for fun neon, leopard print, sparkle-covered gift wrap. But didn’t find anything that wowed me. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and create my own! It was so easy and fun, I just used some of the graphics from the blog and made some fun, new designs in Photoshop.
The end result: Hot Pink Sparkly Leopard Print, Disco Ball & Leopard Print Neon Sign wrapping paper! I’m obsessed with how it turned out. It’s so fun and colorful, but in the perfect “on brand”, cohesive way.
How to Make Your Own Wrapping Paper
Making your own wrapping paper is super easy. Even if you aren’t a photoshop wiz, you can easily customize your own gift wrap. I used Zazzle to print my wrapping paper. PS, this isn’t sponsored. I just genuinely love their site. That’s where I’ve getting all of my custom branded Ice Cream & Neon Dreams merch from!
To start, head to the “Create Your Own Wrapping Paper” section on their site. Then, choose a size. The bigger the roll, the more you can wrap. I opted for the 30″ x 6′ wrapping paper, matte paper. You can also opt for Glossy or Linen, but it’s a little more expensive.
Then, you can upload any image you want printed on the wrapping paper. You can either have one giant image, or tile an image, logo or text across the paper. Just make sure you’re using high resolution images or else it will turn out blurry.
If you’re not feeling super creative, you can also customize existing wrapping paper they have on their site. That’s how I created the gray leopard print wrapping paper with my logo on it. I searched for “leopard print” wrapping paper and chose the color/print I liked. Then, I clicked “customize” and uploaded my logo.
The sequin-esque disco ball wrapping paper is a high resolution image I downloaded from Adobe Stock. The glittery pink leopard print wrapping paper is a design I made in photoshop.
Fun Gift Wrapping Ideas
I ordered the rest of my gift wrap “decorations” and supplies to customize presents on Amazon.
- Mini Disco Balls – make for a fun accent on gifts, just tie them on with ribbon when making a bow.
- Metallic Ribbon
- Black Pre-made Bows
- Black Gift Tags
DIY Confetti Tape
One of my favorite DIY decorating projects so far! You can make your own gift wrap decorations using double stick tape and confetti or glitter! It’s also a fun way to customize gifts and add a little sparkle!
I used this cute star confetti and rainbow metallic confetti. There are a ton of different colors to choose from, so you can buy whatever matches your gift wrap or theme. It’s a fun idea for decorating any gifts, regardless of the occasion.
After you’ve wrapped your present, put your double stick tape wherever you want on the gift. Then, sprinkle confetti over it. Brush the excess off (I used an old amazon box so it wouldn’t make a huge mess). Voila! That’s literally all there is to it!
