Five Fall Fashion Essentials for the Lazy Girl
Fall Fashion is here! Everywhere I look, I’m seeing glam faux fur coats, chic trousers, sky high stilettos and off the shoulder blouses. While I like to consider myself somewhat “on trend”, I’m definitely not a fashionista. I’m way too lazy to spend my entire day browsing through racks and online stores to create one perfect outfit. I would say that one out of every seven days I try to put a little energy into my “look”. The other six, I rely on some simple, yet stylish staples.
Not obsessed with mastering fall’s latest trends? Don’t stress, my young padawan (you can see this is obviously a very, very serious fashun post)… I’ve got you covered. We would all love to look stylish 24/7, but that’s not realistic. That’s why, I have 5 fall fashion essentials that will transform your wardrobe this season.
Five Fall Fashion Essentials
First things first, what’s “in style this season”. Lucky for me (and you), the whole “sleep chic” thing is legitimately acceptable. Meaning, you can wear robes, pj pants & slips in public. It’s basically the next best thing after staying home and lounging in bed all day.
What else to keep an eye out for and consider trying? 90s grunge inspired leather jackets and red plaid. Faux fur trim collars on sweaters and jackets. Glam rock metallics, lamΓ© and sequins. Utility inspires parkas and coats. Hats, hats and more hats!
The Duster
Remember when I said it was totally cool to wear pajamas out into public? Enter the duster. Basically, any time you hate your closet, just throw a duster on top and you’ll feel like a new woman. I got my leopard print, silky duster from Revolve x House of Harlow. I found a few similar ones for less here and here.
I love to throw mine on top of a graphic tee and black jeans. Or, you can even style it with a dress. There are tons of different prints and materials, I like going with something bold to add some excitement to my standard all black uniform.
Black Body Suit
Body suits have been in style for a while now. The great thing is, they’re super versatile and easy to layer. You can incorporate your summer bodysuits by throwing layering a duster, sweater or even jacket. I usually opt for a black bodysuit because it goes with everything. Another pro tip: I generally size up when ordering bodysuits online so they’re more comfortable.
Edgy Boots
I got these boots from Dolce Vita last season, but there are still a ton of similar ones for sale right now. I love these ones, and these ones from Forever 21 are under $40!
Chunky black ankle boots are totally in and totally easy to style. They look great with denim, add edge to a feminine skirt or dress, and compliment an all black outfit any day!
High Waisted Jeans
High waisted jeans are still cool. Which means you can recycle your spring/summer pair! I’m a fan of a high waisted button fly that’s more fitted through the hip & cropped straight leg. That way you can roll the bottoms up a little, or even trim them hem for a little edge.
I’ve had this pair of GRLFRND x REVOLVE Karolina high-rise skinny jeans for about a year and basically live in them. They also come in a ton of different washes & styles.
Statement Sunglasses
My most important accessory: the perfect pair of sunglasses. I’m obsessed with studded sunnies right now, because they add a little edge to any outfit. Whether I’m going to the gym or with a leather jacket, they’re the best accessory. Mine are actually from Amazon and only cost $10!
