Travel Vibes: Arizona
So we’re officially NOT on vacation anymore. But that doesn’t mean I can’t relive it all by going through the pics and posting them for you guys to see!
One of the coolest parts of staying at a Four Seasons Hotel is that they have their very own app! So you basically log on when you check in and link your reservation info. From there, you can do anything from requesting another pillow to ordering room service — ALL FROM YOUR PHONE! We were also able to book massages from it, SCORE!
I’m all about a good massage when I’m on vacation. It’s the best way to enter extreme relaxation mode. The spa was super mellow. I jumped into the steam room and sauna for a minute, had some fancy fruit water & met the most magical woman ever. She gave me some of the coolest advice ever: add your favorite flavor Jell-o to your bath! I gave her a little side eye at first, but then she clarified that it should be sugar free. Apparently, soaking in Jell-o makes your skin smell delicious and works miracles on dry skin. Our moods can be lifted when we inhale fruity scents like watermelon and cherry, because of an endorphin-dopamine reaction.
Another highlight of stay at the Four Seasons Troon North in Scottsdale… they have complimentary loaner cars! So we got to take out a brand new Mercedes convertible and drive around town! Definitely a fun bonus! We drove it into downtown Scottsdale and visited the Fender factory for a tour and had lunch at a local spot. I love exploring new places, so it was fun to get to just drive around and see the town.
If you’re ever in Scottsdale, here are some of my recommendations:
EAT
Proof Canteen – Order the PB&J French Toast, Torched Maple Pecan Oatmeal & Huevos Rancheros for brunch.
Bootleggers Steakhouse – Order the Bacon Board, you won’t be disappointed.
Culinary Dropout – Soft Pretzels & Provolone Fondue, done and done.
SEE
Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West – I’m a huge fan of modern architecture (I actually took a few classes in college). I’ve actually added all of his architecture to my list of things to see in different cities I visit.
Butterfly Wonderland – A rainforest atrium you can walk in with thousands of butterflies flying around!
Bearizona – Drive through more than three miles of Ponderosa Pine Forest viewing North American animals in natural habitats… including baby bears!
DO
Pink Jeep Tours – Go off roading in the AZ desert… in a pink jeep!
Mild to Wild Rafting – It was a little cold for this, so I can’t wait to go back and go white water rafting!
The Grand Canyon Railway – Not technically in Scottsdale, but if you make the trip you have to take a ride on this classic train to the Grand Canyon!
