San Diego Bars & Restaurants still Offering Take Out & Delivery Options
In an effort to help my San Diego locals – I put this post together as a resource for individuals, bars & restaurants. Currently, all San Diego bars & restaurants have either been closed or are being allowed to offer curbside pickup (take out) or delivery options. With the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus, non-essential businesses have had to close to decrease the spread of the virus. Luckily, many businesses have been able to stay open and transition their businesses.
I’ll be updating this post frequently and hope to be able to add more offerings to this list as the situation evolves. If you don’t live in San Diego and are looking for restaurants or groceries that are still being delivered, I recommend checking Postmates, Uber Eats, Grub Hub & even Yelp.
Many small businesses have had to shut their doors due to the spread of the coronavirus. Local governments have been using precautionary measures to limit the spread of the virus, which means limiting our interaction with others & avoiding groups of people.
While I’m not an expert, I still think it’s important to do our best to support our local businesses and communities if we can. You can easily avoid crowded, depleted supermarkets by opting for grocery delivery. And there are a ton of options for delivery services for restaurants and even bars. Many businesses work with delivery apps like Postmates, others have opted to have their employees start doing free delivery on orders.
No matter where you live, I recommend calling or checking your favorite restaurants social accounts to check their current status. And if you want to help, share the information on social media, with friends & family, etc.
SAN DIEGO BARS & RESTAURANTS OFFERING TAKE OUT & DELIVERY OPTIONS
I’m going to start this list with a few restaurants that I regularly visit. I’ve spoken with them directly and gotten more details. They’re some of my favorite spots in San Diego, so I’m giving them a little shout out – we’ve become friends with many of their owners and employees. If you keep scrolling, there will be a longer, comprehensive list. And keep scrolling after that to find a map!

Looking for an amazing breakfast? All Breakfast Republic locations are open and offering takeout services! Their full menu is available, including the March food specials. Orders can be made from 7 AM – 3 PM.
HAWTHORNE COFFEE
You can order coffee beans to be delivered to your house, or order ready to go food & drinks from Hawthorne Coffee. They’re currently offering curbside pickup on orders.
San Diego Poke Co
San Diego Poke Co has scaled back to their Friars Road location only. But You can still order poke for takeout or delivery until 4 PM.
Cardellino
Cardellino is an all day eatery & bakery, offering pastries, pizza, wine & more. You can order for curbside pickup from 8 AM to 8 PM. Their bakery is also open for pastries.
Rare Society
Want a steak? Order in for date night from Rare Society! From 5 to 8pm, you can pick up grilled steaks, sides, wine & Mr Trust Ice Cream.
Madison on Park
Madison on Park is one of the prettiest restaurants in San Diego. Even though you can’t enjoy their ambiance, you can still grab takeout or delivery!
DiMille’s Italian Restaurant
DiMille’s Italian Restaurant is a San Diego staple. They’re offering delivery, takeout, and curbside pickup with their full menu available as well as take and bake trays and family pasta meals. They’re also offering beer & wine deliveries if you order in-house after 4pm!
Donut Bar
Remember myDonut Bar blog post? They’re open as usual for pick up or delivery! The perfect sweet treat to start your morning or end your night!
Hodad’s
Hodad’s in Ocean Beach & Downtown SD are still open for pickup and hopefully working on adding Uber Eats soon. Hodad’s is known for their over the top burgers – which always hit the spot!
Buona Forchetta
has locations through San Diego, so you can call whichever one is closest to you for doorstep delivery. Or, stop by and pickup an order curbside. Buona Forchetta is accepting orders from 10 AM to 8:30 PM – and have a ton of tasty pizzas, salads, pastas and even family style dinner combos available!
Sidecar Doughnuts
Order 12 donuts, get the 13th free! Sidecar Doughnuts is still offering take out orders. They’re working to get their Del Mar location added to Uber Eats and Grub Hubs, stay tuned!
Pappalecco
Get your panini fix at Pappalecco! Pappalecco’s full menu of paninis, coffee, pizza, wine, dessert, salads & croissants is still available for pickup and delivery!
Lucha Libre Taco Shop
One of San Diego’s famous taco shops, Lucha Libre‘s Mission Hills, North Park & Carlsbad locations are all open! You can order tasty Mexican food for pickup or delivery & they’re happy to run your order out to your car for you.
Kensington Cafe
One of my favorite neighborhood spots, Kensington Cafe has a ton of breakfast, lunch & dinner options (as well as coffee). All available for curbside pickup from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
Clem’s Bottlehouse & Deli
Another one of our favorite neighborhood gems, Clem’s is still offering beer, wine, liquor, kegs & their deli! Plus, they’re offering free delivery on orders!
El Zarape Mexican Eatery
There are quite a few El Zarape‘s in San Diego, but our favorite is on Adams Ave in Normal Heights. Order online or over the phone and get curbside delivery!
Ono Grinds Island Grill
I have been ordering takeout from Chris’s Ono Grinds Island Grill weekly for the past 4 years. I am obsessed with their poke bowls and Huli Huli Chicken. Their North Park location is still running, accepting phone orders and delivery via third party apps. They’re open from 11 AM to 9 PM.
Fernside
Looking for drinks to go? Fernside is offering both food & booze to go! They have a ton of snacks, shared plates, salads & burgers available. As well as, you guessed it, beer, wine, growlers & bottle cocktails! Give them a call to pick up your order to go from 5 PM to 10 PM.
Dos Palmas Cafe
Coffee, tea, breakfast & lunch paninis – all served by two of the nicest small business owners I’ve met in San Diego. Dos Palmas Cafeis open from 7 AM to 3 PM for to go orders.
Little Miss Brewing
Bars may be closed, but you can still get your local beer – delivered straight to your door! Little Miss Brewing (one of Doug’s favorite spots) is open from 4 – 8 PM every day for to go orders and beer delivery.
Ponce’s Mexican Restaurant
Ponce’s normally has a line around the building. But having their dining room closed isn’t stopping them! Their kitchen is still sending out take out orders via phone or Door Dash.
Metl Bar & Restaurant
Metl Bar and Restaurant was recently opened by one of our favorite bartenders who used to work at Cantina Mayahuel. Not only are they still offering for delivery & takeout from 12 PM to 12 AM, they’re also offering a free meal program for any hospitality workers who are currently unemployed from the Covid-Shutdown.
Working Class
In addition to still offering take out and deliveries, Working Class is still offering up drool worthy daily specials! They’re open from 9 AM to 9 PM, serving up over the top breakfast, lunch, dinner and breakfast for dinner!
Funky Fries & Burgers
Be sure to check out my blog post about Funky Fries & Burgers. They serve up some of the best burgers, shakes & crazy fry creations you’ve ever seen! They’re still open for takeout and you can even get your “fried Mac n’ cheese” bun burger & their full menu delivered.
The Crack Shack
Another one of my favorite SD spots that’s been featured here on the blog! The Crack Shack is offering “Flock Meals” – easy, affordable family meal packages available for curbside pickup. They’ve trimmed their menu and hours down a bit, but are still open for tasty fried chicken take out!
Tribute Pizza
Not only is Tribute Pizza still open, their owner is hand delivery pizza to customers. They’re offering both delivery and curbside pickup of their pizzas, salads, focaccia, beer & wine!
