Hey friends! I recently asked you guys on my Instagram what you wanted to learn more about and I got a ton of questions about starting a side hustle… aka side business to make a little extra cash! Since a ton of you guys have jobs or are in school full time, I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite tips for creating a side hustle on the weekend!

Having a little side biz means you have little extra money in your budget. Whether you have an emergency or something fun comes up, it’s a great way to give yourself a little extra wiggle room. It’s great because it has nothing to do with your day job or school, but can also help you figure out what you want to do as a full time career. My side hustles actually turned into full time, self employed jobs!

5 Weekend Side Hustles

Do Surveys While You Watch TV

You didn’t misread that. You can totally make money while you’re watching TV! When I first quit my job, surveys were a huge life saver. You can do them on your phone or your computer, so it’s a great way to kill time while you’re waiting at the DMV, watching TV, listening to music or bored trying to kill time.

I RECOMMEND CHECKING OUT SWAGBUCKS & SURVEY JUNKIE.

Or… Get Paid to Watch TV

I’m not joking. There are literally websites that will pay you to watch TV. HELLO! Sites like Inbox Dollars will actually pay you to read emails, play games & watch TV. Did I mention you can sign up for free??? AND you get a $5 credit just for signing up!

Pro Tip: Have it play videos in the background on your computer while you’re working, cleaning or cooking… aka EASY MONEY!!

Hustle Your Talent

Do you like to edit photos? Maybe you’re an awesome writer or great at proofreading!? You can sell yourself and get paid for your skills! One of my favorite freelancing sites is Fiverr because it’s super easy to set up and start charging clients. You can charge whatever you want and create your own unique profile. There are people selling custom drawings, offering virtual assistant work, voiceover work, creating jingles & so many other cool skills.

Get paid to test apps and websites

Have you ever visited a website that’s got issues or an app that doesn’t work? Well, that’s what testers are for! Developers have testers go click links and navigate around to see what’s working and what’ broken. And they will pay you to do it!

You can make up to $100 for an hour of testing on sites like User Testing & Enroll.

Tutor Online

Just about anyone can tutor students online. Sites like Preply & Cambly are great places to start making extra money. They offer different tutoring services depending on you strengths. You can start tutoring English without a teaching certificate, bachelor’s degree or prior teaching experience. Hundreds of thousands of new students join these sites monthly & you can opt for different time zones that fit your schedule!
